A giant space rock demolished an ancient Middle Eastern city and everyone in it – possibly inspiring the Biblical story of Sodom

Article Date - 09/20/2021

No. God inspired the story. Moses is the one the recorded it being over 400 years after the event and given in such detail as if it was voiced to Moses or given in a vision. It is also too coincidental that the wicked city was hit by a space rock. For Moses to pen, "Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven" (Genesis 19:24) when it was just a space rock would be a lie, an exaggeration. And that principle goes against the godliness of taught in the Bible. So, no, there was no space rock involved. And Jesus, of all people, would not have referred to such an event if it was just a random story. What idiocrasy that even Christians get caught up into thinking that such might be possible. No wonder this is called "oppositions of science falsely so called" (1 Timothy 6:20). Either we believe in the Bible accuracy and God, or we are an atheist. We cannot believe in atheistic ideas while claiming to believe in God. That would be mammon, worthlessness. Remember, "Ye cannot serve God and mammon" (Luke 16:13).
