Franklin Graham’s God isn’t mine

Article Date - 02/28/2017

COMMENT: This is wrong on so many levels. First off, there is not a Franklin Graham's God and someone else's God. If properly studied (Isaiah 28:9-10), the Bible would reveal the true character of God. It is neither the writer's God or Graham's God and not even my God. There is the true God.

Second, saving a soul from committing suicide is no evidence in saving souls. God is not interested in just saving a person from killing themselves. God is interested in both "soul and body" (Matthew 10:28). So allowing homosexual laws may save people from body destruction but it actually harms more souls, which is who we are.

Third, the God of the GOP is not a changing God. What the GOP comes out fighting religiously is what draws the focus of God. So to say GOP changed God in 1973 to be against abortion and now changed God into hating homosexual and transgender lifestyles is a straw man's argument. In other words, it is a lie. God has always condemned both but before the 1970's, it was not necessary to bring that point out regarding the unborn. And before 2000, homosexual lifestyle was not something to be as concerned as the agenda is today. [As a side note, we are not GOP supporters as we do not support politics but we will speak on all issues, especially when God is under attack.]

Fourth, the God of the Muslims is not the same God of the Bible at all. Those unlearned in the scriptures are the only ones crying out that we all serve the same God. We don't. The Bible God says that His worship day is the seventh day (Exodus 20:8-11). Muslims believe it to be Friday. Many Christians are wrongly pointing to Sunday. See, even among Christians we do not worship the same God.

Fifth, Pharisees were not the conservatives of the day. Pharisees went beyond that making up their own rules. True conservatives are balanced. They neither take away nor add to the expectations of God. When God says homosexuality is an abomination, we do not diminish it to be a lifestyle choice today. When many Christians call for the practice of Lent, we condemn that activity as that is an added requirement not found in the scriptures.
