The fable part is the fact that damage has been done with the "catchy" title. Although the author identifies correctly that no one takes it literally because there are parts that are metaphorical, what the title actually suggests is that the Bible is not acceptable for general use, as so many Christians believe. A whopping 61% according to the article. Other articles reveal much higher. But the title alone encourages others to believe that the Bible is not reliable, and that is sad.
