Since Mr. Graham stated, "If you want to reach the Promised Land and 'enter the gates of Heaven,'" he should read all the Bible verses, especially the one that he is apparently quoting. It is more serious than just believing. "Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city" (Revelation 22:14). Because Jesus did purchase our price for Heaven, the question is, are we fit to be there? The commandments are really the process in which everyone is tested upon for fitness.
The believing part is justification, but what most Christians do not know about is that the bible teaches sanctification too. That is holy living or keeping the commandments. And yes it is possible because Satan only hates those that do, "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ" (Revelation 12:17). So if no one did, Satan would have no one to hate. Besides, even God knows that people can keep the commandments: "Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus" (Revelation 14:12). If a person truly has faith, they will be able to obey completely.
And in asking Jesus, what did He say? "And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments" (Matthew 19:16-17). Again, it is the commandments.
In fact, it is the way we show our love to God. "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (John 14:15).
