It does not matter the scientific reason for the spread of the infectious diseases, the fact remains that Jesus stated it is a sign of the last days. "And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven" (Luke 21:11). Some see a contradiction in Jesus' words because they can explain the reason by science. There is no contradiction. Jesus simply stated that pestilences would spread. Jesus could not say, "Because of freely going from country to country on a plane, pestilence will spread." The people would have said, "Ummm, Jesus, what is a plane?" Likewise, they would have asked, "Ummm, Jesus, what is climate change?" They kept no such records of annual changes. "Ummm, Jesus, what is urbanization?"
