First off, "John Colatch, Pastor, Prophet, Husband and Father, Singer and Friend" is not much of a Christian by stating that Jesus was just a prophet. He was and is the Son of God. He was God incarnate when He walked this earth.
Second, the "peace" reference is not physical peace between the ungodly and the godly. The reference to Prince of Peace is the peace He brought between us sinners and God the Father, who had a right to just wipe us out for sinning. Instead, through Jesus Christ, we have peace with the Father. The Bible says, "Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ" (Philemon 1:3). Besides, this same Jesus also said, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword" (Matthew 10:34). Now that is in reference to spirituality, but Jesus also said, "he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one" (Luke 22:36).
Third, the reason for unrestricted access to guns is that the writers of the constitution was not putting such in the constitution for the purpose of hunting, nor was it for defending one's home, nor even for helping the country in the event of an attack on our soil. It was written to defend ourselves from our own country when it turns on us, as prophesied. Our country is well equipped to wipe all citizens out. Having a shotgun or handgun will be nothing.
Fourth, the reason Christians ought to be defending the second amendment is that once we start removing those amendments, the constitution will eventually fall apart. Even the first amendment is under attack.
Fifth, as usual, guns are not the issue. If a person wants to kill, they will find a way, even without guns. Besides, all that the rules and restrictions do is make it harder for law abiding citizens to obtain the guns. Those willing to shoot others are going to find illegal ways to obtain such.
