2 Thessalonians 2:15 says, "Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle." How dare the pope criticize people taking a stance on, what still may be erroneous doctrines, but it certainly better than what the pope has been teaching as new doctrine. And speaking of which, God says, "I [am] the LORD, I change not" (Malachi 3:6), so should not every denomination be teaching the unchanging doctrines of Christ and not be teaching doctrines that makes the church more acceptable into society? In other words, the denominations have changed instead of society, and that is not of Christ.
