Couple Smuggles Dog Into Hospice To Visit Ailing Mom and Her Face Says It All

Article Date - 11/16/2023

As a dog owner, you've probably broken a few rules here and there to sneak in your fur baby, am I right? After all, rules are there to be broken.

TikToker Drewdown thought so as well and smuggled in his dog, Puppers, to spend some time with his mom at the hospice in this heartwarming video. Let's take a look!

How sweet is this?

It baffles me that hospices wouldn't allow dog visitors to begin with. People who are about to cross over wouldn't like anything more than to spend some time with their fur babies and family, of course.

Allowing patients in hospice to spend their final days with their beloved family dogs can be a profoundly comforting and emotionally beneficial experience, as it can contribute to an improved quality of life in their final moments.

Dogs are known for their ability to provide emotional support, and their presence can bring comfort, reduce anxiety, and offer a sense of companionship during challenging times.

Since being in hospice care can sometimes lead to feelings of isolation, having a beloved pet around can mitigate this sense of loneliness by providing a constant and non-judgmental companion.

For many individuals, their pets are like family members. Therefore, being able to spend time with a cherished dog in their final days can fulfill emotional needs, bringing joy and a sense of normalcy.

Additionally, interacting with dogs can have physical benefits as well. Activities such as petting, grooming, or even short walks can provide a gentle form of exercise and contribute to overall well-being.

Hopefully, this hospice will recognize the therapeutic value of pets sooner than later and will accommodate these arrangements when possible.
