Ed’s family claims he’s had a dramatic shift in personality ever since he started using medical marijuana to manage his pain after neck surgery in 2019. They say he’s had manic episodes, quit his job in the aerospace industry, left his wife and kids, disowned his parents, and eventually moved to Nevada, where he is currently living in a motel. “He wanted to put the past behind him – all the negativity, all the sadness,” says Ed’s niece, Jessica. Ed’s sister, Dawn, says, “He feels like it’s his medicine, but it’s actually tearing him apart.” Ed claims the cannabis he smokes not only helps his pain but enhances his creativity.
