Using stem cells is still cheating. So, the "mother" or "father" would be the owner of the stem cells. Despite trying to play God, they still cannot beat God's ability to make things out of nothing. Like Pharoah stated, these people just seem to challenge the existence of God: "Who [is] the LORD, that I should obey his voice" (Exodus 5:2).
