I give my son money and his wife gives it to her church

Article Date - 06/01/2016

Although the end result is to allow the daughter-in-law to continue paying tithe to her church, I find it interesting that people want honest and truthful people, yet this parent rejects when it is being exercised. Agree or disagree, when an act of honesty and respect is being demonstrated, let it alone. Now in the agreeing department, we have the Bible saying, "Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings" (Malachi 3:8). So the parent wants the daughter-in-law to rob God just because they are not so religious or religious at all. For the daughter-in-law to go against conviction and rob God, that means she is open to robbing other people including the IRS and won't that parent be upset if the IRS finds out and prosecutes? And if she's being dishonest with God, who says that she would then be honest still with her in-laws? I personally don't agree with who she's paying tithe too, but I'm not going to stop her until she's convicted to supporting God in a different denomination. Right now, she sees that the organization she tithe's too is blessed of God, and I would support that and so should her in-laws.

Further, for their son to say, "My business has improved since my wife has been paying tithe" and the parent to reject such as not being so smart, that parent fails to understand the Bible evidence, "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it]" (Malachi 3:10). "Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness" (1 Corinthians 3:18-19).

Now for those that are quick to say, "Despite the wife being the bookkeeper, she should only pay tithe of her own money" that is still robbing God. She has given up the "prospect of a high paying job to be a stay home mom", evidently a joint decision, therefore, by marriage contract, his money is also her money. She has a responsibility to God to tithe off all the income in the home.
